Zaiden's Survivor Story (continued)
Additional Images of Survivor's Experience

Zaiden's arm shortly after we arrived at the ER. In the half-hour that preceded, the lesions spread from just a small cluster in the middle, to the additional lesions seen here on the periphery. Though these lesions appear almost to be scratches, they are not. They actually formed from the bacteria rapidly tearing the skin.

Over the next few hours, the lesions and swelling continued to develop.

The doctors were very concerned about the gray area between the center legions, which initially gave some signs of necrotizing. After continued IV antibiotics, though, the skin between the lesions seemed to normalize. The treatment put the bacteria in check, the lesions stopped spreading and the swelling and redness stopped expanding.

Over the next days, through continued IV antibiotic treatment, the swelling and redness diminished.

Zaiden today (one week after the flu shot).
Notice the swelling and redness in the arm is gone, and the lesions are slowly healing.
