Susan Convery

August 22, 1949 - November 15, 2006

My mother, Susan Convery, passed away November 15th, and was born August 22, 1949. It all started with a sore throat and a trip to the ER. They admitted her and thought that it was tonsillitis. Upon removing her tonsils they noticed that she had pockets of infection all down her throat, and that she had strep type F. So they did a second surgery to clean out the abscesses and she was in a coma ever since. She was kept alive for about 8 days and contracted both necrotizing fasciitis and sepsis. The doctors finally told us they had done all they could do. My sisters and I were confused about what this disease was and how it was contracted, and if it was courageous. Your site was very informative, and I would love to be an advocate for you in NC if you need one. Thank you very much for placing a dedication for my mother in your dedication.
