Georgia V. Norwood was born January 17, 1948 in Des Moines, Iowa. She died on July 1, 2009 due to complications from necrotizing fasciitis. She is survived by her husband of 38 years Jimmy of Nuevo California, two sons James and his wife Kelly of Yucaipa California, and Paul and his wife Wendi of Redlands California, and one granddaughter, Lyli. Georgia was a fighter, she had battled many different illnesses over the years and she overcame all of them, everything from Juvenile Diabetes to Leukemia. When she entered the hospital with what would be her final illness, the doctors were baffled by her complaints of pain. Georgia lasted less than two days before entering a coma and then passing away after her family decided to take her off of life support, as was her wish. Georgia traveled the world with her husband and sons. Thanks to Jimmy's service in the US Army, she was able to live in such diverse places as Oklahoma, Texas, Maryland, West Germany, and California. She was an avid crafter and loved to crochet or any other craft she could get her hands on. For several years she owned a used bookstore with her sister Cheryl, and her love of reading was filled with all the books she could read. Georgia's greatest wishes in life were to see her twin sons married and have children. She would often pester them with questions to find out if there were any prospects. She lived long enough to see both sons married and her youngest son Paul have a daughter named Lyli. Georgia may have left this world with a baffling illness, but she left behind a strong and vibrant family secure in their memories of her. She will be missed. |
