| My mother was 50 years old when she lost her life to NF. She had gone to Florida for business and came home sick like she had the flu and her leg was infected. A week in the hospital the doctors thought it was a bug bite of some sort but things were getting worse. We would have good days with the NF not spreading and bad days where she would have multiple surgeries. She was in the hospital for 3 weeks in Lubbock, TX and after 22 surgeries her body just couldn't take it anymore. They had removed about 45% of her skin and fat from her right leg to her stomach. She fought a hard battle and I was there with her along the way. To loose someone to this horrifying stuff is just unbelievable. I miss her so much and I was not ready to loose her. Mom I miss you and love you--Love, Chelsea |
